FTI Consulting Launches Relativity E-discovery Offering in Brazil
Global Firm First to Offer Cloud-Based RelativityOne in Brazil and Across Four Continents
São Paulo, March 27, 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the Company’s Technology segment has expanded its partnership with Relativity to provide the RelativityOne e-discovery platform in Brazil. With this partnership, FTI Technology is the first to to seamlessly handle cross-border e-discovery matters on Relativity’s SaaS product, RelativityOne, across South America, North America, Europe and Asia.
"Brazilian companies and global organizations with offices in Brazil are facing growing pressure to keep data in-country when handling discovery or investigations," said Andrew Szwez, a Senior Managing Director in the Technology segment at FTI Consulting. "By launching Relativity within Brazil, our clients can quickly find relevant data and focus on case strategy, while complying with Brazil’s data privacy laws."
Recent trends in Brazil — including enforcement actions and regulatory changes — have increased the frequency and complexity of investigations. Within the past decade, Brazilian federal prosecutors have intensified anti-corruption investigation efforts and levied billions in fines and multi-year jail sentences. In 2018, the Brazilian president signed into law its General Data Privacy Law, closely modeled after the European Union’s General Data Privacy Regulation, placing new requirements on how personal information is managed and shared.
For Brazilian companies responding to litigation or government investigations, FTI Technology’s offering enables clients to safely manage the entire e-discovery process within Brazil, in accordance with the country’s data privacy laws. Organizations looking to manage their data across borders can benefit from RelativityOne, which offers the added security, flexibility and extensibility of a complete SaaS solution.
"FTI Technology has built a reputation for delivering high-quality e-discovery services on a global scale," said Jeff Seymour, Director at Relativity. "By adding RelativityOne to its portfolio in Brazil, FTI Technology continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and outstanding customer service."
